1.     Partnership approach to monitoring performance across the new performance framework

The BSP has agreed a partnership approach to monitoring performance across the new performance framework. The illustration below show the allocation to the thematic partnership of all the indicators.

2.      Bucks LAA signed off by Government

The Buckinghamshire Local Area Agreement has now been formally signed off by government Ministers.  Following extensive consultation and discussion between partners, the LAA contains 26 National Indicators, 7 Local Indicators and 16 statutory education and early years’ indicators.   

 3.      Planning for delivery

 Now that the LAA is in place, the focus is on delivering the agreement.  Partners are working together to put in place clear, robust delivery plans.  These are due to be signed off shortly by Block Leads, and will then be publicly accessible via the BSP website.

4.      Bucks Strategic Partnership Board – first meeting

The first meeting of the new Bucks Strategic Partnership Board took place on 17th June 2008.  This board includes representatives from the main deliverers and commissioners of services in the county, the political leaders of local authorities and representatives of wider stakeholders such as the voluntary and community and business sectors. This is the overarching partnership of partnerships for Buckinghamshire, whose focus will be on setting strategy and charting the long-term future of the County. 

 Papers for the quarterly BSP Board are publicly available, alongside details of membership.   

The first meeting of the BSP Implementation Group, which will support the BSP Board by coordinating the development and delivery of the LAA took place on 11 July 2008.

The Improvement and Development Agency website contains details on the development of LAAs nationally, as well as a library of LAAs including Buckinghamshire’s.

The Department for Communities and Local Government have launched a Local Priorities website aimed at local to raise awareness of the local priorities in each area. This enables the public to link directly to the priorities set out in the LAA for their area.

Details of the amount of reward grant available to authorities as part of the new LAA were announced in an FAQ document published by DCLG. For Buckinghamshire, the potential reward grant stands at £2.87m.
