Voluntary & Community Sector (VCS)
What role does the VCS play in the LAA?
The voluntary and community sector is recognised as a major partner in the development and delivery of the LAA, and building the capacity of the VCS has been identified as a specific priority in the LAA (see page 50 of the LAA submission for more detail). Involvement in the development of the LAA to date has included:
- Membership on the Bucks Strategic Partnership Steering Group
- Representation on the LAA Programme Board
- Representatives of a range of voluntary sector organisations attended the individual workshops which were convened to establish the priorities for each block as well as the workshop facilitated by the IDEA which considered the agreement as a whole
- The LAA newsletter is circulated to a wide range of VCO's
- The LAA was discussed at a meeting of the Change Up Consortium
Partners from other sectors are also listed on this website on the Partners page.
How is the VCS involved?
The Partnership has recognised that the tight timescale for the development of the LAA has not allowed the wider sector to take an active role in this process. VCS involvement has focused on the infrastructure groups and the major voluntary sector service providers on behalf of the sector as a whole. It is anticipated that the development of the LAA will be an ongoing process however and consultation and engagement with a wider group of stakeholders, including front line voluntary and community groups, is an area for development.
The aim is to involve the VCS in discussing and meeting LAA targets wherever possible. This page lists a number of organisations that have been identified as potentially being involved with certain targets. If you belong to one of these organisations please feel free to comment on this list using the form at the bottom of the page. New groups wishing to participate with any of the targets are as welcomed. If you think your organisation could play a part, please let us know using the feedback form.
Alternatively you can contact the VCS lead for each of the blocks, identified by the Change Up Consortium, who will coordinate VCS involvement in the ongoing development of the LAA.
