Document Formats
We aim to provide document downloads in Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format). There are free viewers for this format available for most platforms:
- Windows: Adobe Acrobat Reader or Foxit Reader
- MacOSX: Built-in viewer.
- Linux/FreeBSD: Your distribution may include one of evince, kpdf, Adobe Acrobat Reader, xpdf, among others.
- RISCOS: !PDF
- Handheld Computers: Adobe Acrobat Reader
Adobe provides some accessibility information and tools for PDF.
Occasionally a document may be distributed in Microsoft Word 2000 format. There are also viewers/editors available for these on most platforms:
- Windows: Microsoft Word Viewer, Openoffice.org
- MacOSX: Microsoft Word for Mac
- Linux/FreeBSD: Your distribution may include one of Openoffice.org, Abiword, KWord, among others.
- RISCOS: Antiword
- Handheld Computers: Ability to view word documents generally included.
